Weekend Bookshelf: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Illustrated by Jim Kay

The magical world of Harry Potter is in a state of excitement once again. Illustrator Jim Kay, in association with Bloomsbury, has released the first illustrated version of Harry Potter, and boy is it amazing!

Reimagining the magical world, Jim Kay has managed to capture essential elements in the book, something that the movies missed. From the intricate detailing – you actually catch a glimpse of what Hagrid’s keyring looks like and how awfully cramped Harry’s room under the stairs really is, the artist has managed to capture details of the book in a very accurate manner. From Hermione’s really bushy hair to the scary Forbidden Forest to Dumbledore and his cheery personality to strict and stern Professor McGonagall, you get to see it all.

Fans of Harry Potter will love the detailing in this book. It is definitely worth that bookshelf space, PotterHeads.
